This blog is a mostly stress journal. It isn't private, because I have nothing to hide and getting outside help and support requires telling the whole story, including some very uncomfortable truths.
Finally in 2008, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia / chronic fatigue syndrome, after suffering constant pain since at least 1995 (and with 20/20 hindsight, it's clear I've had related symptoms and signs since my teens and even before). This is considerably worsened by circumstances where I've not been believed and, consequently, lies have been spread about me. As a result of these lies, I've suffered unwarranted verbal attacks, victimization and bullying.
My friends and supporters are, of course, welcome here. Those who have judged me solely on the basis of other people's self-serving opinions and mere hearsay, I can only hope have intelligence and minds open enough to listen to and consider facts supported by irrefutable evidence.
Two brilliant, true and profoundly disturbing videos that highlight the cruelty and injustice shown to ME patients in the UK.
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself." - Harvey Firestone, Industrialist.
"Truth is not only violated by falsehood; it may be equally outraged by silence." - Henry Frederic Amiel
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." - Mark Twain
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
"Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint." - Mark Twain
"The ultimate ignorance is the rejection of something you know nothing about and refuse to investigate." - Dr. Wayne Dyer
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of this -- always." - Mahatma Gandhi
"No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow." - Alice Walker
"Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast." - Oscar Wilde
"If you can't love me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best." - Marilyn Monroe
"... maybe I'll just let your harsh criticism roll off my back and accept that it's coming from an idiot." -- Chez Pazienza
